I am the manager and principal consultant of Koala Consulting and Training, and I hail originally from Brisbane, Australia.
I hold a Master's degree in Organisational Psychology from the University of Queensland, Australia, with credit for one semester from the University of Joensuu, Finland. I also have a Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) from the Randolph School of English in Edinburgh, Scotland.
In my home town, I worked for four years as an Associate Lecturer and Research Assistant in the School of Applied Psychology at Griffith University. I also assisted in research at the Wesley Hospital and conducted training and development courses at the Prince Charles Hospital. In Finland, I spent six years in Nokia, mostly as a human resources consultant, and two years developing training programmes in Kudos, a technical writing company.
Based in Helsinki, I have now been providing consulting services with Koala Consulting and Training for 13 years. Altogether, I have 27 years' experience in training and adult education. In my educational and consulting work, I sometimes work alone and sometimes with the co-operation of esteemed colleagues.
Public speaking is not only my profession, but has also been my hobby. In May 2008, I was elected President of Helsinki Toastmasters for 2008-9. In June of the same year, I was awarded the Helsinki Toastmaster of the Year 2007-8.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss your consulting and training needs.
